Calibrations

The following performance evaluations, adjustments, and maintenance are provided as a standard part of our Calibration services:

Linear displacement accuracy test of measuring axes using certified artifacts*.

bullet

Square ness evaluation and adjustment to factory specifications using a certified master angle*.

bullet

Repeatability evaluation tests*.

bullet

Volumetric (3D) accuracy evaluation*.

*Accuracy tests are made in accordance with ANSI/ASME B89.1.12M specifications, sections 5.3, 5.4 and 5.5 encompassing repeatability, linear and volumetric accuracy as each relates to the performance of coordinate measuring machines.

Preventative Maintenance

PPI provides the following:

Complete cleaning, inspection and normal maintenance of machine guide ways, air bearings, linear scales, mechanical components, assemblies, and external covers/shrouding.

bullet

Inspection of machine air supply hoses/tubing, air regulators, Z axis counterbalance, and fail-safe mechanism.

bullet

Test and adjustment of machine fine feeds, motor drives, and DCC/CNC electronics as required.

bullet

Test and adjustment of reader head encoder signal wavelength, gapping, backlash and physical position.

bullet

Inspection of machine wiring harness and electronic circuitry.

ISO 9000 conformance procedures are also available upon request.
